Be part of the SYMPOSIUM – 15th International Mining Meeting
The event, formerly known as the International Gold, Silver and Copper Symposium, has a new name and celebrates 30 years of mining history.
During a press conference, the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE) announced the celebration of the SYMPOSIUM – 15th International Mining Meeting, an event that will take place from May 21 to May 23, 2024, in Lima.
During this new edition, the challenges of today’s mining industry and its contribution to Peru’s economic growth will be analyzed. The event will also mark a milestone in the industry, since it will be 30 years since the SNMPE started organizing this event, thus evidencing its commitment to promote and disseminate the mining industry of Peru and the region to the public, the business sector, and to national and international potential investors as well as authorities.
Gonzalo Quijandría, president of the organizing committee, highlighted the relevance and acceptance that this international event has enjoyed since its first edition in 1994, which at that time was held under the name of “International Gold Symposium”, later renamed “Gold and Silver Symposium” and in the last edition “Gold, Silver and Copper Symposium”.
Likewise, he pointed out that one of the main objectives of the event will be to identify those opportunities the sector must take advantage of and the challenges to be overcome in order to continue contributing to national development and the well-being of Peruvians.
